Mitchel Frame, a star for the Celtic B team, has signed a contract with the organization through 2026. Numerous teams in the south were keeping an eye on the left defender, a highly regarded Scottish youth international.
It’s encouraging to see that Mitchel chose to put pen to paper and carry on honing his craft where he has been since he was nine years old instead of succumbing to the riches on offer down south.
Nobody could hold it against Mitchel if, as a young player, he felt pressured to follow the example of a few of his teammates and try his luck in England or elsewhere in Europe. Therefore, it’s encouraging to see a player of his caliber continue to play and attempt to get into the first team.
In the Lowland League, Mitchel plays frequently for the B team and has reportedly put in a streak of strong performances. If he continues in that manner, he will soon, if not already, capture Brendan Rodgers’ attention. His decision to agree to a new contract will show to have been the right one if he succeeds in reaching the first team level. We all want more young players to see a future with the club, and this could help them do that.
After Fabrizo Romano’s update this morning, as reported on The Celtic Star, Celtic confirmed at noon via the club’s official website that Mitchel Frame’s new contract had been signed. Celtic broke the news as follows.
