A key Leeds United player has suffered a fresh injury blow and a Whites attacker has also been overlooked.
Max Wober and Robin Koch have each started every game for Eintracht Frankfurt and Borussia Monchengladbach since leaving Leeds, which has six players out on loan at clubs in Europe. In Saturday’s Bundesliga match at Wolfsburg, where Eintracht Frankfurt lost 2-0 and dropped to eighth place in the standings, Koch once again started at center back for his team.
Wober also started for Monchengladbach in a league game against Bochum. Wober’s team won 3-2, and the departing Leeds center-back played the entire game as his team moved up to 13th.
At Union Berlin, Brenden Aaronson has struggled to earn starts, and the midfielder was not utilized as a replacement in Saturday’s 1-0 loss at Heidenheim. Since joining the 11th-placed Union on loan, Aaronson has made three starts and three sub appearances.
Marc Roca is United’s sole player out on loan in Spain at Real Betis who face a Sunday night La Liga hosting of Valencia. Roca started his new side’s first seven games of the season but then dropped to the bench for Thursday night’s 1-1 draw at Granada in which he came on as an 81st-minute substitute.
Diego Llorente and Rasmus Kristensen are both on loan at Serie A team Roma, but Llorente suffered an injury setback in Thursday night’s 4-1 loss at Genoa, where he was substituted midway through the opening period while Kristensen played the entire game.
