The 21-year-old, in what was only his second Premier League appearance, had a great game – already looking settled in the Reds’ backline.
Defensively, Murillo had a storming game, but he also showcased his ability on the ball with some beautiful passes and mazy dribbles which saw him nearly fire home his first goal for the club.
Brazilian Murillo played an inch-perfect pass to Gibbs-White late on in the first half, with the midfielder lobbing ‘keeper Sam Johnstone, just to see his effort rebound off the post to safety.
Morgan Gibbs-White on Murillo
After the game, Gibbs-White spoke with Jamie Redknapp and shared details on his first training session with his new teammate since joining in the summer.
“He’s honestly an incredible player.
“It was his first-day training, and he went in for a tackle on me and I felt his power and his strength and I said to myself ‘I’m not going near him again!’
“When he went on his mazy run today, I screamed for him to pass, and every time I screamed for it, he beat another player.
“It was an unbelievable run and he’s so unlucky to not get himself the goal in the end
Murrilo will only get better.
After his £13 million move from Corinthians, no Forest fan could’ve imagined how good this 21-year-old was going to be.
He’s really hit the ground running in a Forest shirt and is starting to look like a great pickup, especially for the fee.
Murillo and Willy Boly, who is running a fantastic campaign, have begun to forge a fantastic alliance. For Forest’s sake, let’s hope the two can keep pushing one other to get better.
