Jack Jenkins, a midfielder for Leeds United, has been loaned out to non-league Scunthorpe United until January. Jenkins, who moved to the National League North in search of playing time, is now the 12th player to depart Leeds on loan this season.

The midfielder joins the Iron’s first team squad right away, and he might play this weekend when the Lincolnshire club hosts Buxton at Glanford Park. Scunthorpe, who dropped to the sixth division of English football last season, have had a strong start to the current season and are now sitting atop the table.

Jenkins will therefore be looking to assist Scunthorpe in building on that by joining Jimmy Dean’s team and assisting them in their pursuit of promotion back to the National League. Jenkins has certainly been on loan before; he spent the previous campaign at League Two club Salford City.

He did manage to score for the Ammies in his debut, but after failing to break through at the Peninsula Stadium, he only made 11 appearances for the team. However, the 21-year-old will be hoping for better fortune this time around because his contract at Elland Road is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

Jenkins, who has played four times for the U21s this season, has only played once for the Whites in the senior level despite frequently being named on the Premier League bench. In January 2021, Crawley Town defeated in the FA Cup, that bow occurred.
