Serhou Guirassy is a target for Nottingham Forest, therefore VfB Stuttgart can’t completely rule out that he’ll depart the team during the January transfer window.
According to BILD, who continues to cover the player and assert that Nottingham Forest is one of the teams that has ‘already maintained an eye’ on the striker, this is the case.
Guirassy has started this season on fire, bagging a record 13 goals in seven games so far to top the Bundesliga goalscoring charts and put Stuttgart second in the Bundesliga with 18 points from seven games.
It’s an impressive turnaround for a player who managed 11 goals in 22 games in the league last season and has, predictably, led to plenty of speculation about his future.
Numerous clubs in Europe are thought to be keeping an eye on his performances and potentially eyeing a move, particularly as the striker has a €20m release clause that comes into effect next summer.
Nottingham Forest were linked with a move in the summer transfer window and have been credited with an interest since, with it reported that they could make a concrete move in January or beyond.
BILD continue that today and say Guirassy’s future is of concern to everyone at Stuttgart, who don’t want to lose him if they can avoid it.
They know that if he continues his current form that €20m fee in the summer would be a bargain for someone and so a January departure ‘cannot currently be ruled out’.
Above all else, it gives Stuttgart the opportunity to obtain “significantly more money” for the striker since his release clause is inactive.
In other words, even though losing Guirassy would be a cruel blow, Nottingham Forest will find the German side more than flexible if they wish to make a move in the winter window and offer above €20m.
