Nottingham Forest must make a number of last-minute fitness decisions as they get ready for their trip to Crystal Palace on Saturday.
This weekend, the Reds play their final Premier League game before the break at Selhurst Park. As he prepares to announce his starting lineup, head coach Steve Cooper has a number of injury concerns.
He has ruled out full-back Nuno Tavares until after the fortnight’s hiatus due to the groin problem which forced him off during the defeat at Manchester City. However, Cooper was coy over whether Nicolas Dominguez, who came off during Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Brentford, Ryan Yates and Ola Aina might be available in the capital.
It’s ongoing,” he said of the injury situation. “Nico came off in the Brentford game with a hamstring and Yatesy has been nursing a niggly hamstring for a few weeks now, which has really forced him from not getting on the pitch.
We’ll see with regards to the weekend. Whatever we decide to go with through availability, we’ll be as ready as we can be and commit to the game as best we can.
“Danilo is a little longer-term, so it will still be a while before he rejoins the group. Although he is outside on the grass, his rehabilitation is still very much ongoing.
Nuno won’t likely be seen till after the international break, in my opinion. We’ll check Ola first.
The Bees match was missed by defender Aina due to a muscle problem. Danilo, a midfielder, has not appeared since being forced off during the 1-0 victory at Chelsea at the beginning of last month due to a hamstring injury.
