The Los Angeles Rams were defeated by the Green Bay Packers on Sunday thanks to a strong defensive showing. Keeping an NFL offense to three points is a really amazing feat, regardless of whether you are playing against a backup quarterback.

The offense had its ups and downs throughout the afternoon.  While they put up 20 points in the win and had a few explosive plays, they also failed to put the game away sooner when they had the opportunity.  That being said, head coach Matt LaFleur had some things to say regarding Jordan Love after Sunday’s win.

Green Bay Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur Releases Statement About Jordan Love After Win Vs. Los Angeles Rams

Ryan Wood of USA Today asked Matt LaFleur what Jordan Love needs to do going forward specifically regarding the “go ball.”  This is what he had to say:

“I just think he has to shut his mind off and let it rip. I think a lot of times when you try to aim something or guide it, you’re not going to be as successful.”

Jordan Love had a season-best 76.9 percent accuracy rate as the Green Bay Packers beat the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

In his most efficient performance since Week 1, Love gained 8.77 yards on every passing attempt. It was his eighth start on the season that Love completed 20 of 26 passes, but it was two completions that made the most impact.

Christian Watson made a spectacular catch for 37 yards on a third-and-12 in the fourth quarter, as Love fired a deep pass into the right sideline. The Rams were put to bed by Love’s 20-yard touchdown pass to Luke Musgrave one play later.

Even though the performance wasn’t flawless, it gave the Love-doubters some hope. Seeing him tear the ball down field and connect on a couple was pleasing. LaFleur and the rest of the Packers organization hope to see Love’s downfield passes become more consistent moving forward.

LaFleur’s assertion unequivocally demonstrates his belief in Love’s capacity to succeed.
