This football season, the head coach of Michigan, has been in the news a lot due to the cheating controversy and speculation that he would be joining the NFL as a head coach in 2019. Many have connected Harbaugh to teams like the Los Angeles Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders in relation to the NFL coaching rumors. Eleven weeks into the 2023 NFL season, an ESPN analyst claims that one club now stands out more than the others.

According to ESPN’s Mike Greenberg, Harbaugh will leave Michigan after this season to coach the Chicago Bears. Greenberg says that the Bears should be “begging” Harbaugh to be their new head coach next season. He also says that there is a real chance that this could happen, which would be insane considering Chicago’s history of hiring head coaches who are not experienced.

Harbaugh has been in a lot of controversy in the college football world as the investigation by the NCAA continues regarding the alleged scouting scheme in the program. The head coach is currently serving a three-game suspension that was given to him by the Big Ten and is still being investigated for the potential cheating scandal.

Jim Harbaugh’s NFL Career

Harbaugh has had experience with being a head coach in the NFL, and he was able to have success while doing so. He coached the San Francisco 49ers and even brought them to a Super Bowl, which they lost to the Baltimore Ravens who are coached by his brother, John Harbaugh. Jim was able to amount to a 59-36-1 record as a coach in the NFL, and many think that he can have the same success if he comes back to the league.

Nothing is official just yet; these are all conjectures and rumors for the time being. Though he has previously been connected to several teams, Harbaugh is the most likely contender among the former coaches in the league to take the helm as an NFL head coach the following season. These whispers will intensify even further as we watch how these NFL teams and Harbaugh fare the remainder of the season.
