Here’s a very discomforting news development to unexpectedly emerge on game day morning: Lane Johnson is now QUESTIONABLE to play in the Philadelphia Eagles’ Week 12 game against the Buffalo Bills, according to an official team announcement.
Johnson was added to the injury report with a groin issue. He did not previously appear on the injury report leading up to this game so it seems like something happened between the Eagles’ last practice on Friday and now. Apparently Johnson woke up with soreness on Sunday morning.
If Johnson can’t play, well, that’s really bad news. The Eagles are much worse without him, as everyone was reminded when he had to leave early during Philly’s Week 6 game against the New York Jets. Backup option Jack Driscoll played poorly in relief of Johnson in the Eagles’ only loss to this point in 2023. It remains to be seen if Driscoll will get the call again or if the Eagles might go with Fred Johnson or Tyler Steen instead.
The Eagles will officially announce their inactives at 2:55 PM Eastern, 90 minutes before their 4:25 PM kickoff.
Stay tuned for more developments.
