After overcoming a neck stinger to shield Dak Prescott’s blindside from the Philadelphia Eagles, Tyron Smith had one of his best games recently; but, he’s currently dealing with a different situation.
Due to illness, the potential first ballot Hall of Fame left tackle missed practice on Wednesday for the Cowboys, though it was only a walkthrough. It’s important to remember that prior to the aforementioned outstanding performance in Philadelphia last week, he just took part in a walkthrough and a mock game.
Smith was joined on Wednesday’s injury report by Markquese Bell (limited – calf), Osa Odighizuwa (limited – hamstring) and KaVontae Turpin (DNP – shoulder). Turpin suffered the injury on a return against Philly, then re-entered the game to grab a touchdown reception.
Tyler Biadasz (ankle) and Jayron Kearse (toe) were also on the injury report, but both were listed as full participants.
KaVontae Turpin continues to make his presence felt for the Dallas Cowboys but, this season, it’s in more than one aspect of the game; and his toughness continues to shine as well.
The Pro Bowl returner has also become a viable weapon for Dak Prescott and the offense, his most impressive outing having come in a hard-fought battle against the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Cowboys ultimately fell short, but Turpin added a receiving touchdown to keep them in the game early, and he did it despite an injury. He’d leave the game for evaluation following a 47-yard return that put Prescott in position to do the rest with a touchdown to Jake Ferguson and, on his first play back from being evaluated, Turpin scored the aforementioned TD.

“It was one of those plays where I had to test myself out and see if I could still go,” he said. “But I also wanted to be a playmaker for Dak, and that’s what I did.”
