This season, the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers have one more meeting. In Week One, the Packers won the inaugural meeting between the two famous franchises. With two weeks remaining in the season, the Packers are still competing for a playoff spot, while the Bears have already begun planning for next season.
The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers still have one more matchup this season. The Packers took the first game between the two legendary franchises in Week One. Now with two weeks left in the season, the Packers are still vying for a playoff spot while the Bears have already turned their focus to next season.
However, the Bears could make a move in the near future in an attempt to finish this season strong.
The Chicago Bears Could Sign Former Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver Amari Rodgers
The NFL Staff at Bleacher Report proposed Chicago sign free agent wide receiver Amari Rodgers, a former Green Bay Packers wide receiver and return man:
Add Now: WR Amari Rodgers
Wide receiver is projected to be one of the Bears’ biggest offseason needs and they could use someone in the slot since Darnell Mooney’s contract is about to expire. It’d be worth it to bring in Rodgers for a few weeks and see if he’s worth a reserve/future contract, especially since he doesn’t turn 25 until September.
Between the Colts (2023), Texans (2022) and Packers (2021-22), he has played 33 games and caught 20 passes for 249 yards and one touchdown. Additionally, Rodgers has rushed three times for 18 yards, returned 40 punts for 305 yards (7.6 average), and returned 17 kickoffs for 321 yards (18.9 average).
It would certainly be an interesting move if the Bears signed the former Green Bay third-round draft pick. Would they possibly consider it just to try to get a leg up for their Week 18 matchup against the Packers?
