He is finished. The 6-2, 235-pound JUCO linebacker from Jones (Miss.) College announced his recruitment and official visit on Sunday. On December 20, Collins will sign his national letter of intent with Ole Miss.
“I liked everything up here,” Collins said, according to Inside the Rebels. “They still treated me like family, as if it were my first time here.” They showed me everything, and I’m in love with this place. I’m all finished. I’m just about to sign some paperwork.”
Collins is a four-star prospect rated as America’s No. 1 junior college linebacker by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite index. He is ranked as the nation’s No. 5 overall JUCO player and No. 2 in the state of Mississippi by the Composite. He will sign his national letter of intent to Ole Miss on Dec. 20, the first day of the early signing period.
Opening odds provide a mixed bag between Ole Miss, Penn State for 2023 Peach Bowl
After completing just the program’s second 10-win regular season, the 2023 Ole Miss Rebels finally know where and when their season will come to an end. On Sunday, it was announced that Ole Miss would be playing the No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions in Atlanta for the 2023 Peach Bowl. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT and can be seen on ESPN on Saturday Dec. 30.
The Rebels are returning to a New Year’s Six bowl game for the second time in the last three seasons. Ole Miss will look to win their first bowl game since the Lane Kiffin-led Rebels won the Outback Bowl during his first season as head coach.
Ole Miss and Penn State both enter having won four of their last five games and each are fighting for their eleventh win of the season.

The 2023 Peach Bowl will mark the fourth-straight season in which Ole Miss heads to a bowl game. They are currently 1-2 in bowl games under Lane Kiffin and have appeared in the Outback Bowl (2020), Sugar Bowl (2021) and Texas Bowl (2022). Ole Miss has a long bowl history. They are tied for ninth all-time in postseason games with a.615 winning %, tied for 15th nationally with 24 bowl victories, and tied for 20th nationally with 40 bowl appearances. However, entering into Kiffin’s fourth bowl trip at Ole Miss, the Rebels had lost three straight bowl games. Last season, the Rebels lost 42-25 to Texas Tech in the TaxAct Texas Bowl after losing 21-7 to Baylor in the 2022 Sugar Bowl the year before. In his first season as head coach, Kiffin defeated No. 7 Indiana 26-20 in the 2021 Outback Bowl.
