Sad News: Boston Celtics key Player Continues to Hold Hatred due to…..

Even though Cedric Maxwell hasn’t worn a Boston Celtics uniform in almost 40 years, he still maintains his animosity towards the rival Los Angeles Lakers.

During his recent appearance on Michael Cooper’s podcast, “Showtime With Coop,” Maxwell, a former Lakers guard, didn’t hold back. Maxwell’s Celtics harbored a mutual hatred towards Cooper’s Lakers. To be honest, Maxwell still has no problem admitting that he still despises those men

The NBA’s greatest rivalry throughout the 1980s was that between the Celtics and Lakers. There was also no greater rivalry between Boston’s famous player Larry Bird and Magic Johnson of Los Angeles. The two served as the league’s public faces and were instrumental in elevating the NBA.

In the East, the Celtics held sway. The West was handled by the Lakers. Over the course of the decade, they won eight championships together, with the Lakers winning five of them. During the 1980s, the Celtics and Lakers participated in the championship round every year

Maxwell participated in two of Boston’s three titles throughout that ten-year period. After the Celtics defeated the Houston Rockets in 1981, he was awarded the MVP of the Finals. Against the hated Lakers in Game 7 of the 1984 NBA Finals, he again instructed his teammates to jump on his back. He delivered, scoring a team-high 24 points to lead the club to a 111-102 triumph

The competition from the 1980s was bitter and despised. It was very different from what we see now. After games, there was no hand shaking. The games were rough, with hard fouls and thrown fists frequently occurring, and the teams had a genuine dislike for one another. Byron Scott, a former guard with the Lakers, famously described how little the teams liked one another

He once stated on his podcast, “Off the Dribble  The one thing everyone has to understand is that it was a true rivalry.” It’s not as it is now. The genuine rivalries that existed in the NBA back then have faded

In the summer, we didn’t play ball with those guys.” We did not play AAU ball with those guys, and we did not play high school ball with them. They detested us. We detested them

Maxwell recently made a visit on Cooper’s podcast, and the former forward for the Celtics did not hold back while expressing his emotions

Maxwell addressed Cooper, saying, “When you played in that era, it wasn’t like right now, when you and I are playing buddy, buddy, laughing and s***.” “Dude, we didn’t do that. Maurice Cheeks, the former guard for the Philadelphia 76ers, was at a game the other day. I had a bad feeling. I felt like throwing a punch at him

I feel that way about all of your men, including James Worthy. Really, not much has changed

Cooper admitted that he now likes Maxwell “almost as much as I detest his ass

“Don’t worry about it; I got the same hate for your ass, too,” Maxwell remarked. We share the same vessel. That’s how I still feel about Magic (Johnson) and everyone who has worn their colors

Maxwell claimed to respect Magic even though he claimed to despise him

Maxwell declared, “I have the utmost respect for Magic, even though I despise him.” Not just for basketball, but also for the Black and HIV communities, as well as for the Black community in general
