Georgia Bulldogs superstar tight end Brock Bowers suffered a high ankle sprain against the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Bowers will undergo Tight Rope surgery on his left ankle on Oct. 16. He is expected to make a full recovery, but Georgia football has not provided a timeline on his return.
Recoveries from Tight Rope surgery vary, but a four-to-six week timeline is reasonable. Bowers should be able to return before the SEC championship game. A pair of Brock Bowers’ Georgia teammates have also undergone Tight Rope surgery this season. Tight end Lawson Luckie missed about six weeks of action after undergoing the procedure.

Former Georgia Bulldogs running back Todd Gurley made his college football debut against Buffalo in Sanford Stadium. Gurley made an immediate impact for the Bulldogs. He scored three touchdowns and finished with over 200 total scrimmage yards in his first game as a true freshman.
Todd Gurley played at Georgia from 2012-2014. He memorably helped Georgia make the 2012 SEC championship, where the Bulldogs came painfully close to beating Alabama.
Gurley is the No. 4 leading rusher in Georgia football history with 3,285 rushing yards and 42 total touchdwons. He has the highest average yards per carry (6.8) of any of Georgia’s top five all-time leading rushers.
Todd Gurley went on to be a first round pick in the 2015 NFL draft. Gurley was dominant throughout his six season NFL career, where he scored 79 total touchdowns. Gurley was twice named an All-Pro with the Los Angeles Rams.
