Transfer Portal: Ole Miss’s dedication to the Egg Bowl rivalry causes them to switch sides……..
College football players in the transfer portal are no longer able to schedule visits during the dead period, which has come. This puts a stop to the intense period of portal recruitment that began on December 4. However, this does not
imply that progress on the gateway front has slowed down. Massive names are still available for purchase (as well as some others who may yet be able to enter before the deadline of January 2)
The loss of Green, a top-100 prospect in the Class of 2023 who started five games for the Sooners this season as a
rookie, took Oklahoma off guard. Right now, it looks like the two clubs with the best chances of obtaining him as a transfer are Oregon and Missouri. He has just been to both institutions. According to one insider, things were truly 50-50 as of the beginning of the week
On Monday, Ole Miss added Mississippi State cornerback Decamerion Richardson to its remarkable list of transfer
portal prospects when he declared his commitment to the Rebels. Richardson was a four-star prospect out of Bossier City (La.) High School in the 2020 class. He was rated as the No. 4 cornerback in the portal and the No. 40 overall transfer in the 2024 cycle.
This autumn, he participated in and started all 12 games for the Bulldogs. In all, he recorded seven pass breakups, one sack, and 79 tackles. This season, he tied a career best with nine tackles and a pass breakup against Ole Miss in the Egg Bowl
The 2024 recruiting cycle is entering the home stretch with the early signing period coming up this week. Many of the top high school football players around the country have already announced their respective commitments, but nothing is official until they put pen to paper.
With that in mind, there have been some notable decommitments in recent weeks as players are reopening their recruitments before making a final decision.
There will be plenty more decommitments in the coming weeks leading up to the early signing period, so we will be tracking those here
