Since the transfer portal’s formal launch earlier this month, Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels have been on a tear,
and one industry expert believes they are not quite done yet. Walter Nolen, a defensive lineman transfer from Texas A&M Aggies, was predicted by Pete Nakos of On3 to join the Rebels on Sunday. Nolen, who just paid the Rebels a
visit, was ranked as the top overall prospect in the 2022 cycle upon graduating from high school. Nolan has 66
tackles, five sacks, one forced fumble, and one pass breakup in his two seasons with the Aggies. During his time in high school, the strong defensive lineman moved about a little, playing for Olive Branch
Even with the array of quality that has already been brought to Oxford, particularly on defense, securing Nolen
would be the largest land for Kiffin and company in this transfer portal cycle. SEC competitors including Tamarion
McDonald (Tennessee), Chris “Pooh” Paul (Arkansas), Tyler Baron (Tennessee), and Princely Umanmielen (Florida) have just committed to the Rebels
Add these transfers in with the talent from the 2023 roster that will be returning next season, and Ole Miss could
have a legitimate shot at vying for a spot in the soon-to-be-expanded College Football Playoff. The Rebels will
conclude their season in a New Year’s Six bowl game this month when they face the Penn State Nittany Lions in the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl in Atlanta. Kickoff at Mercedes-Benz Stadium is set for 11 a.m. CT on Dec. 30, and the game will be televised on ESPN.
