Over the last few weeks, cries of “JA-RED GOFF!” have spread throughout Detroit. It has occurred spontaneously at Red Wings games, restaurants, even the airport.

Lions supporters have showered the quarterback with affection, and Goff has returned the favor.

Goff expressed his desire for the relationship to extend into 2024.

“I’ve loved every second of my time here and would love more,” Goff said Monday, according to Kyle Meinke of mlive.com. “I love Dan [Campbell]. I adore the coaches and my teammates. Yes, it would be amazing. But it is not up to me.”

Goff is entering a contract year scheduled to make $21.7 million in base salary and count $31.7 million against the cap in 2024. A new deal would cost

“It’s not up to me,” Goff added. “I love this place, and we’ll see what happens over time. But, absolutely, I adore this place, Dan, all the coaches, and all of my teammates. It is out of my hands. It is up to my agents and, of course, the ones upstairs [in the front office].”

Goff is unconcerned about when or when a new contract will be signed.

But he earned it after earning his third Pro Bowl appearance and completing a career-high 67.3 percent of his passes for 4,575 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

The Lions won 12 regular-season games, matching the franchise record, claimed their first division title since 1993, and won a playoff game for the first time.
