FIRED: A Clemson linebacker has been dismissed from the team.
T.J. Dudley is no longer a member of the Clemson football team.
According to a Clemson football program representative, Dudley was expelled from the team for violating team rules. Clemson Tigers confirmed all players on Wednesday. Dudley has since registered on the NCAA transfer portal.
During his redshirt season in 2022, Dudley had two tackles in four games. In 2023, the redshirt freshman was projected to play a larger role and be part of the linebacker rotation. He appeared to be the backup to All-American Jeremiah Trotter Jr. at middle linebacker.
A four-star recruit coming out of Montgomery (Ala.) Catholic Prep, Dudley signed with the Tigers February 2022 after he decommitted from Oregon in 2021.
Once players enter the transfer portal, their current school is no longer under obligation to honor a scholarship.
Clemson is about two weeks away from the start of fall camp.
On3.com’s Matt Zenitz reported it first.
