With the NFL season coming to an end, multiple Georgia Bulldogs have been selected finalists for NFL Honors Awards.
As the NFL season comes to a conclusion, the finalists for postseason honors are being announced. With two former Bulldogs named finalists for two separate prizes. Here is a list of Bulldog finalists and the awards for which they were nominated.
Matthew Stafford, Comeback Player of the Year.
After injuries cut short his 2022 season, Matthew Stafford returned in 2023 and threw for 3,965 yards and 24 touchdowns. His efforts would earn the Rams a 10-7 record and a playoff berth. The Rams would eventually lose to the Lions on the road in the playoffs, but they would not have advanced as far as they did without the efforts of their veteran quarterback.
Jalen Carter – Defensive Rookie of the Year
Jalen Carter, a defensive lineman just drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles, put on a show in his first year of professional football. Carter concluded the 2023 season with 20 tackles and six sacks, helping his squad to a playoff spot.
