The Pittsburgh Steelers are keeping an eye on four injuries throughout the week as they hope to get a few members of their starting defense back in Week 18 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Head coach Mike Tomlin said the team is expecting safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (knee), safety Trenton Thompson (neck) and inside linebacker Elandon Roberts (pectoral) to return to practice in some capacity this week. The expectation is for all three to be limited in the earlier portion of preparation with hope that that participation will grow enough to be active on game day.
Fitzpatrick and Thompson have missed the last two games, with Roberts missing Week 17. The inside linebacker told All Steelers, “Don’t count me out,” when asked about a potential return in the regular season.
Pittsburgh will also monitor an undisclosed injury outside linebacker T.J. Watt suffered in Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks. Watt left the game for a short period but was able to return.
Tomlin said the injury could limit Watt early in the week but that he should be available by the time they travel to Baltimore.
