NEWS NOW: After his playing career, He shares his exciting plans for the Eagles to…
Jason Kelce has no immediate intentions to leave the Philadelphia Eagles organization, no matter when he chooses to hang up his playing days.
The previous few weeks, speculation about ‘s futJason Kelceure with the Philadelphia Eagles has been rife. Considering his age and the fact that he recently presented a signed jersey to one of his biggest admirers, the 36-year-old has left fans wondering if he will announce his retirement soon.
In an interview with Olivia Reiner of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Kelce talked about his post-playing goals, even though he hasn’t decided whether to retire. Eagles supporters should not fear; even if the All-Pro center chooses to retire, he has no intention of leaving.
Eagles News: Kelce Wants to Remain with the Team
For all his uncertainty about his playing future, Kelce told Reiner that his objective is still to “be involved in the [Eagles] organization.” The seven-time Pro Bowl blocker continues by saying he never wants to miss out on any Eagles victories.
“I don’t want to ever feel like I’m on the outside looking in on these achievements and these accolades and these opportunities that largely represent entire cities and fan bases and organizations.”
It is conceivable that Kelce would perform well in an off-field capacity. He is more in love with Philadelphia than with being an Eagle, so you would have to assume that everything from a coaching position to one as a brand ambassador is up for grabs.
Kelce has said in the past that he will announce his retirement when the moment is appropriate. That being said, following a heartbreaking loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round, he did express to Reiner his excitement about “trying to prove people wrong” the next season.
However, Kelce did speak of himself rather than the Eagles collectively, so maybe he has one more season left in him as a player.
There is no replacing Kelce’s contributions on the field, even though Eagles supporters would love for him to continue working with the organization once he retires. Even though 2023 was his thirteenth NFL season, Pro Football Focus reports that he dressed for all 17 games, allowed just one sack in 654 pass-block snaps, and had an overall offensive grade of 80.7. Not to add that he set a new team record by starting 156 straight games during the regular season.
It will take some time to find out if Eagles supporters can expect Kelce to return for the upcoming campaign. After such an amazing career so far, he has earned the right to take his time, but don’t expect an announcement until at least after Super Bowl LVIII.
