Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart has deleted a cryptic post from his Instagram story that appeared to be directed toward Quinshon Judkins. Judkins, arguably the best (former) running back in the SEC, announced that he is entering the transfer portal after two years with the Rebels on Thursday.
Lane Kiffin, who is busy catching big Bahamian sharks while fishing on vacation, was unbothered by the news. His running back apparently requested more money than Ole Miss’ top NIL arm was willing to pay
The relationship between the two parties had also soured throughout the fall. According to sources with knowledge of the locker room, Judkins’ attitude had been causing issues all year.
It is confirmed that the tension ultimately boiled over during the Peach Bowl when Dart asked Kiffin to take Judkins out of the game. He made the request due to alleged disrespect toward the offensive line.
Although the Rebels kept things under wraps throughout the season, in large part because Judkins is so talented, the two sides came to something of a mutual agreement to part ways. A reconciliation is highly unlikely.
Judkins is off to play for a new program. Lane Kiffin and the staff in Oxford are working to retain Ulysses Bentley IV and Jam Griffin, preparing to play former four-star recruit Kedrick Reescano in a significant role and are hoping to add another ball-carrier through the transfer portal. They had a contingency plan.
It appears as though the players are glad to see Quinshon Judkins go. Or, at the very least, Jaxson Dart seems to be fine with the departure.
Jaxson Dart got (not-so) cryptic on Instagram.
A few hours after Judkins announced plans to transfer, his former quarterback posted a recent clip of Tom Brady on his Instagram story. Dart included the caption “..” and nothing more.
