The Detroit Lions are gearing up for their final matchup of the year before a very anticipated post season. The Lions have not made the post season in quite some time and they have been having an amazing year in huge part to their star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

St. Brown had an incredible year but it was not enough to get the nod for the Pro Bowl. He has had a career year this year for the Lions, with 112 catches, 9 touchdowns, and 1371 yards. He was verbally hot after being snubbed from the Pro Bowl, but he is focused on proving himself in future years to get the nod.

More Importantly Brown helped along side Jared Goff to lead the Detroit Lions to their first division title since 1993. So the fan base is much happier to see them in the post season than for Brown to make a NFL Pro Bowl. Amon-Ra feels similar as he is very focused for the post season. However, he still had a lot of comments about not getting the nod after such a incredible year.

Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown Is “Hot” For Missing The Pro Bowl

The receiver was candid about his feelings on being snubbed as he was quoted in his press conference saying:

“The receivers that got picked, they’re great players, but I was hot,” St. Brown said, via ESPN’s Eric Woodyard. “I guess I didn’t do enough during the season, so I’ve got to go harder.”

He is definitely right about the other receivers taken, but he is also validated in his frustration about missing the honor after such a good year. He was pissed that he didn’t get the nod but this will also continue to motivate him to go harder as he put it. The young receiver is going to be special for many years to come and while he did not make it this year that is definitely coming in his future.

More importantly for him and the Detroit Lions they have a huge post season ahead of them. The NFC is full of good teams and the Lion swill need to be focused if they want to make a deep post season run. I’m sure this will motivate Brown even further to not only come back strong next season, but to have an amazing post season this year.
