The 36-year-old veteran, who spent four of his ten major league seasons with the Jays, is said to have reached an agreement on a contract with the Hanwha Eagles, his former Korean squad.
Although Ryu had intended to continue in the majors at this point, it’s obvious that he didn’t get enough interest in free agency to do so. The alleged four-year offer is valued at $12.7 million.
Throughout his 186 big league appearances, Ryu finished 78-48 with a 3.27 ERA in North America.
