The Ole Miss Rebels may have a perfect trifecta in the SEC with the return of Jaxson Dart, Tre Harris, and now Caden Prieskorn.

Jaxson Dart and Tre Harris are poised for another big season at Ole Miss. Could another weapon become a household name in the SEC before the season ends?

According to Pro Football Focus, Caden Prieskorn has already reached that level.

PFF ranked the junior pass-catcher as the No. 7 returning tight end for the 2024 season. Prieskorn, who transferred from Memphis to the Rebels, concluded the season with 10 catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns in the Peach Bowl victory over Penn State.

Prieskorn missed the first three games of the 2023 season with a knee injury. Once he returned, the Memphis transfer demonstrated why he was so sought after in the portal. From Week 4, Prieskorn’s 449 receiving yards ranked tenth among all tight ends in the country. Since 2022, his 1,051 receiving yards and 527 yards after reception are fourth among FBS tight ends. – PFF

PFF ranked Harris and Dart as the top ten returning receivers and quarterbacks, respectively. With the arrival of Juice Wells and the return of Jordan Watkins, the Rebels now have a four-person combination that defensive coordinators may struggle to cover.

Prieskorn has averaged at least 11.5 yards per reception since his freshman year. In 2022, he had a career-high seven touchdown receptions, but he also appeared in 12 AAC games.

Even before the Peach Bowl, Prieskorn gave Rebel fans throughout the country reason to be optimistic about his future. In the Egg Bowl, his 26-yard touchdown reception in the fourth quarter capped a 10-win regular season for the second time in program history, as well as a 17-7 victory to end the season.

Prieskorn also had a touchdown reception the week before in Ole Miss’ home finale versus Louisiana-Monroe.

Colston Loveland, a Michigan great who won a national title in Ann Arbor, was rated as the top returning player. The top five included Notre Dame’s Mitchell Evans (No. 2), Utah’s Brant Kuithe (No. 3), Georgia’s Ben Yurosek (No. 4), and North Carolina’s Bryson Nesbit (No. 5).

Yurosek, who is expected to be a key component of Georgia’s passing game, is a Stanford transfer and the only other SEC tight end named. From an experienced aspect in the conference, Prieskorn is the top returning SEC player.

Syracuse’s Ondre Gadsden (No. 6), Michigan State’s Jack Velling (No. 8), Texas Tech’s Jaylin Conyers (No. 9) and Iowa’s Luke Lachey (No. 10) completed the list.

On August 31, the Rebels face Furman at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium to begin the season.
