TRENDING : Fans are going crazy over the fact that the Green Bay Packers are …..
In 2024, the Green Bay Packers want to move up from being a playoff team to a Super Bowl team. The young players in Green Bay will need to keep improving in order to accomplish that, but the team will also need to keep adding players for the future.
It was stated today that the Packers are reportedly already considering the future.
For Wisconsin Sports Heroics, Tyler Schisel broke the following news first:
Before the NFL Combine and the Draft, the Green Bay Packers met with All-American linebacker Edgerrin Cooper. Cooper attended Texas A&M for four years before declaring for the draft in December. Cooper, who was highly recruited out of Covington High School, joined Texas A&M after being rated as a 4-star recruit by ESPN and 247 Sports.
Cooper participated in 12 games for the Aggies in his senior year of 2023, logging 609 snaps overall. He performed admirably, recording 56 stops, 17 assists, and 58 tackles. Cooper recorded 27 total pressures as a pass rusher, including 12 QB hurries, 5 QB hits, and 10 sacks. Overall, Cooper’s senior year performance was outstanding.
Cooper was available to all thirty-two teams for a meeting at the Shrine Bowl. He is currently projected to go somewhere between the second and fourth rounds of the draft, but that could change based on how well he performs at the NFL Combine and any Pro Days he chooses to attend.
The Packers will focus heavily on the defense side of the ball and will meet with most defensive players who fit the mold of their team.
This off-season, there has been a total overhaul of the defensive coaching staff. There has been a change in the defensive line coach, passing game coordinator, and defensive coordinator. Supporters responded as expected when they learned that the team may be considering recruiting a playmaker like Cooper:
