CJ Wiley, a large wide receiver from Milton High in Alpharetta, Georgia, is ranked as a Top 200 player in the 2025 class and has seen his recruiting take off after a breakout junior season. The son of famous LSU and NFL pass rusher Chuck Wiley finished the year with 68 receptions for 1,468 yards and 14 touchdowns, making him a priority target for several of the country’s finest colleges.

One of these is Auburn.

Wiley returned to Jordan-Hare Stadium for the A-Day game a few weeks ago after visiting with teammate and Auburn commit Ryan Ghea in March. During his official visit to Hugh Freeze’s program and to spend extra time with wide receiver coach Marcus Davis, Wiley stated he loved his return to Auburn.

Sunday reflections from Auburn and beyond

What is reasonable to expect from Auburn football?

How good will Auburn’s football team be when the season starts in a little more than four months? That’s not a question that can be answered in April. I believe the offense will be significantly better than last season. I believe the defense, from what I have seen since D.J. Durkin arrived as coordinator, will play with a great deal of passion.

Hugh Freeze, heading toward his second Auburn season, seems more comfortable than he did a year ago. He clearly is more comfortable with his staff since making major changes.

However, the Tigers still have some work to do before they can achieve their goals. Barring a series of injuries, I’d expect them to be substantially better at the conclusion of the season than at the start. What will it look like in terms of victories and losses? I don’t see how anyone could make an accurate guess.
