One essential member of the Texas Rangers’ lineup has been missing to start the season.
Nathaniel Lowe has been out with a right oblique strain since training camp. He was sent on a rehab assignment with the Frisco RoughRiders this weekend. Fans from all over the DFW Metroplex flocked to Dr. Pepper Ballpark to support one of the organization’s most popular players.

Nathaniel Lowe injury rehab assignment: When is Rangers return?
Lowe did well this past weekend with the RoughRiders. He finished his rehab assignment with four runs, one hit, one home run, and three RBI. While his stats were underwhelming, fans must realize this assignment was trying to get him some at-bats so he’s up to speed when he re-joins the Rangers. He was working the count against pitchers and had some long at-bats.
Lowe seems ready to re-join the Rangers and their offense that’s in a slump right now.
One essential member of the Texas Rangers’ lineup has been missing to start the season. The Corpus Christi Hooks announced on Friday afternoon that Justin Verlander would start Saturday’s game against the RoughRiders. Verlander allowed seven hits and five earned runs in his start, as Frisco roughed him up early and chased him out after 77 pitches. With pitching placement troubles, it was clear that this was Verlander’s first game of the season. However, with Verlander on the mound, Lowe was unable to cause any damage.

Lowe will continue to rehab for the next 2-3 weeks and could play in Triple-A as well. If there are any complications at first base, the timeline may be altered. The Rangers miss his presence in the lineup, and having a gold glove winner at first base will boost morale as injuries continue to pile up.
Hopefully, his return to the lineup shortly will result in a winning streak or some form of consistency.
