The Detroit Lions will face great expectations heading into the 2024 season.

As they compete for the Super Bowl, many of their key players will be hoping to sign new contracts in Detroit or abroad.

Here’s a look at Lions players who are entering the final year of their contract.

QB Jared Goff (Trade, 2021)

Goff is anticipated to sign an extension, though the conditions have changed depending on industry expectations. Could Goff offer the Lions a discount in the hopes of keeping several of the team’s young players? With the increasing pay cap and the possibility of the number continuing to rise, that’s improbable.

RB Craig Reynolds (Free agent, 2021)

The Lions are set in terms of top running backs, but Reynolds has shown to be a crucial third option. He is well-liked in his position group and has a solid comprehension of the offensive concept. These are desirable characteristics for his role.

WR Amon-Ra St. Brown (Draft, 2021)

St. Brown is another player set to receive a well-deserved contract extension. Despite his lack of size and height, he is quickly emerging as one of the league’s finest receivers. However, he compensates for that with his unwavering work ethic and toughness.

WR Donovan Peoples-Jones (Trade, 2023)

After taking a brief look at Peoples-Jones in the second half of the season, the Lions liked his potential enough to offer him a one-year contract. With Josh Reynolds off to Denver, Peoples-Jones could receive a longer look in 2024.

Zeitler is a significant under-the-radar pickup after the Lions lost Jonah Jackson. Though the Lions possessed one of the league’s finest offensive lines, the veteran should keep them performing well. He is 34, and the Lions may add youthful depth in the Draft, but he’s been durable throughout his career and could earn a new contract.
