Keelon Russell, a four-star quarterback, has committed to SMU since last September, but other top institutions are intensively recruiting the Duncanville (TX) High School talent. Russell looks to be content with his vow to the in-state school, but he will continue to make official visits.

The 6-foot-3, 175-pounder went on a multi-day trip to SMU earlier this month and paid an official visit to Ole Miss in April. He’ll be on the road again this weekend for three more.

“It’s exciting to be honest,” Russell told Swamp247’s Blake Alderman. “As I have already stated, my recruitment is only now gaining traction. I get to visit Oregon, Alabama, and Florida. These are the schools that everyone in the country is talking about. “It’s definitely exciting.”

The Crimson Tide will make the first trip (May 31 – June 2), and Bama247 continues to hear that the new staff has given Russell a lot to think about. He said this in an interview with Blake Alderman this week.

We’re only a few days away from the start of official visit season, which is undoubtedly the busiest time of year in recruiting. Alabama is preparing for what appears to be an exceptionally outstanding guest list for the next four weekends, beginning on Friday, May 31.

The first weekend will see more than ten recruitment, including two 2025 commitments. Keelon Russell, an SMU quarterback commit from Duncanville, TX, will be in town, as will many others.

The Crimson Tide will be bustling all month, with large crowds expected every weekend from June 21 to June 23.
