After taking most of May off, Alabama football players returned to campus this week to begin summer practices. The roster is also slightly larger following Memorial Day. Summer-enrolling freshmen came over the weekend, and Alabama’s spring transfer portal haul of six seasoned athletes has also arrived. Summer school begin on Tuesday. Here’s a refresher on the six guys that joined Alabama through the gateway after spring practice finished and will officially begin practicing in August:
OT Kadyn Proctor (Iowa).
247 Sports transfer portal ranking: No. 2 — five stars
Eligibility remaining: 3 years
Date committed: April 16 How he fits: Exactly where he was before. Despite his failures last season, particularly early on, Proctor’s departure for Iowa in January was one of the most significant blows to the Tide’s squad this summer. The unexpected news in mid-March that Proctor was set to depart the Hawkeyes and rejoin the Tide boosted an offensive line that had been lean and inexperienced this spring. Proctor still needs to improve his consistency as a sophomore, but he has solidified his position at left tackle.
S King Mack (Penn State
