Breaking :Lions Draft Pick Says He Was Almost A Raider After ‘Coin Flip’

While appearing on “The Next Round,” Arnold told the show about how he almost became a Las Vegas Raider  instead of a Detroit Lion.

“They (Raiders) called me after the draft and they were like, ‘you know we actually had a coin toss between you and Brock Bowers?’ It landed on him. I was like, ‘oh wow,’” Arnold recalled.

Detroit was searching for help after they finished ranked 26th in the league in pass defense.

That is not going to cut it.

They lucked out after Las Vegas decided to take the All-American tight end in Bowers.

Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, who was a three-time Pro-Bowler in his career as a cornerback, will look to get the best out of Arnold as the backend looks to improve.

Arnold will join his old teammate at Alabama in safety Brian Branch, which is why there will be some familiarity in terms of communication for both.

Pro Bowl edge-rusher Aidan Hutchinson and tackling machine Jack Campbell at inside linebacker provide talent too.

As Dan Campbell’s team hopes to build off of the team’s first NFC Championship Game appearance since 1991, the addition of Arnold should definitely help out on defense.

If it does indeed do that, they could be looking at another magical season in 2024.
