This weekend, Michigan football hosted tight end Andrew Olesh for an official visit, and the fifth-ranked tight end in the 2025 class was impressed with the Wolverines.
Olesh, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 212 pounds, comes from Center Valley, Pennsylvania, and after his official visit to Ann Arbor, he began trending with crystal ball forecasts and expert projections from other recruiting specialists at On3.com and Rivals.
Notable recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong projected Olesh, who is ranked 130th overall in the 2025 class according to the 247 Sports composite rankings, to the Wolverines.
On Wednesday, Olesh told Brian Dohn of 247 Sports that his recruitment was down to two teams; Michigan football and Alabama. Olesh said that Crimson Tide have been making a late push. He talked with Bama OC Nick Sheridan over the weekend and it seems to have made Alabama a serious contender.
Olesh told Dohn that he’s got a tentative commitment date set for Monday July 1st. That’s probably a good thing for Michigan considering the recent visit and expert projections. However, Olesh told Dohn that there’s a chance he woud wait beyond next Monday for a decision.
If that happens, that’s probably good news for Alabama. Michigan has or had the momentum and Alabama has cut into that a little bit. The focus now should be closing and trying to get Olesh to commit and go public this coming Monday.
