As the 2024 NFL season continues to draw closer, the Detroit Lions continue to be one of the most intriguing teams to monitor in the entire league.
Following an impressive 2023 campaign that saw them make it all the way to the NFC Championship Game, there are many who view the Lions as a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Keeping that in mind, Brad Holmes and the front office have done everything they can to improve the roster during the offseason.
Not only have they made roster upgrades, they also went out and spent big on new deals for Jared Goff, Amon-Ra St. Brown, and Penei Sewell. They are not about to let their current stars get away.
Now, the Detroit Lions are mostly done with offseason player movement. However, there could still be one move out there that could be the icing on the cake for what has been a nearly perfect offseason.
Detroit Lions Urged To Pursue One Massive Late Free Agency Move
During a recent Q&A with Sports Illustrated expert Albert Breer, he revealed a few things the Detroit Lions could potentially look into this offseason.
One of his suggestions was looking into adding more help for the pass-rush.
In order to address more depth and talent on the edge, he suggested a few players. The main one to take notice of is former superstar pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue.
“Right now, the Lions would probably start Marcus Davenport there, which isn’t a huge problem, but probably requires a little more depth. Along those lines, adding a veteran such as Yannick Ngakoue or Emmanuel Ogbah would make some sense.”
Ngakoue would be an intriguing pickup. He might not end up earning a big role within the defense, but he certainly has the skill-set to be a massive impact player.
