Georgia State University proudly announces that standout outfielder JoJo Jackson has been selected by the New York Yankees in the 17th round of the 2024 Major League Baseball Draft.
Jackson will participate on the Frederick Keys, a collegiate summer baseball team of the MLB Draft. This remarkable achievement marks a significant milestone in Jackson’s promising career and underscores Georgia State’s reputation for nurturing top-tier athletic talent.
While attending Georgia State, the Stone Mountain, Ga., native was a three-year letterwinner and two-year starter as a switch hitting outfielder. In his last year with the Panthers, Jackson became the program’s third-leading hitter with a .310 average. He was also second on the team in 2024 with 15 homers, which ranked 10th in the Sun Belt.
In addition to his numerous program accolades, Jackson ranked fourth in the Sun Belt in slugging with a .655 percent, and was eighth in the conference in OPS (1.049).
