Packers head coach Matt LaFleur even expressed his awe at how Willis was able to carry himself on the field despite the pressure and challenges. LaFleur also praised the Packers for rallying behind the 25-year-old Willis.

What he’s been able to do is, I’ve never seen something like this,” LaFleur said of Willis, per the Associated Press (h/t ESPN). “So hats off to him. Hats off to everybody around him. Guys rallying and having his back.”

Against his former team, Willis passed for 202 yards and a touchdown on 13/19 completions. He also led the Packers with 73 rushing yards and a touchdown on six carries.

Willis could find himself in the backup role in Week 4 against the Minnesota Vikings at home, as Love is seemingly close to a return. Either way, Willis deserves the praise he’s been getting. So far in the 2024 NFL regular season, Willis has racked up 324 passing yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on a 73.5 percent completion rate. He also has 114 rushing yards on 12 carries.
