Green Bay Packers fans had plenty of reason to be excited about their team heading into week one. The second year of the Jordan Love era held seemingly unlimited promise, with a young crop of receivers on offense and a new-look defense combining to boost fans’ hopes.

Those hopes were put on hold a bit on Friday night, however, when Love got his left leg rolled up on and suffered a sprained MCL. Love will be out a few weeks, and Malik Willis will get the first opportunity to fill in for him.

How will Packers’ fans view the team’s chances after the injury? We’ll find out next week, but first let’s look at how cheeseheads were feeling before it happened.

If this survey were issued after the game, that last option — backup quarterback — surely would have climbed much higher up the list. As it stands, the Packers did see their rookie kicker miss a kick on Friday night, as Brayden Narveson hit the upright from 42 yards out. He had a good night otherwise, however, going 3-for-4 overall on field goals and hitting all of his PATs.
