Retired Cup Series driver Greg Biffle has taken a hands-on approach to assisting the victims of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina, using his personal helicopter to deliver supplies and Starlink internet systems. Another NASCAR Ford driver, Joey Logano, has stepped up to offer assistance and is now taking donations through the Joey Logano Foundation to distribute to communities in need.
In a post on social media, Logano announced his intent to use his established foundation to help. He pledged $250,000 in aid that will be distributed to organizations helping with disaster relief in the western Carolinas, with the first $25,000 being donated to Convoy of Hope, which is a faith-based humanitarian and disaster relief organization focused on providing supplies to those in need worldwide.
“Our hearts go out to all those affected from the recent hurricane and the @JoeyLoganoFDN will be donating $250,000 to help in relief efforts. $25,000 is already sent to the @ConvoyofHope, as we know from years of experience working together, they are a great organization to tackle unfortunate situations like this,” Logano stated on social media. “Plus, if you know of other organizations that could use some attention that are currently doing their part in this time of need, please let me know in the comments.”
Logano also encouraged his fans and supporters to donate directly to the Joey Logano Foundation or Convoy of Hope.
Other NASCAR entities providing aid for affected citizens in the Carolinas include Hendrick Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing, Darlington Raceway, Trackhouse Racing, and Bristol Motor Speedway. The Blue Oval itself has also joined relief efforts – Ford Credit and Lincoln Automotive Financial Services customers in the affected areas are eligible for a payment extensions of up to 60 days. In order to receive the extension, customers must live in counties that are eligible for the FEMA Individuals and Household Program.
