For as serious as some NFL rivalries can be, they completely pale in comparison in terms of the fierceness and pure hatred that the biggest rivalries in college football have to offer. And those last forever as a couple of players on the Los Angeles Rams can attest to in quarterback Stetson Bennett and tight end Miller Forristall.
Bennett went to Georgia while Forristall attended Alabama, not only two of the best college programs in the country over the past decade, but absolute fierce rivals for a long time. The two schools faced off in an unbelievable game last weekend and after a back-and-forth contest that saw Georgia fight back from a 28-0 deficit, it was Alabama who came out Because of that, Forristall got to have a little fun at the expense of Bennett, forcing the former Georgia Bulldog to dress up in Alabama Crimson Tide gear, with the Rams tight end then posting it on his X pageon top 41-34.
Coincidentally, the two actually did face off once in college. Once again, it was Forristall who came out on top there as he and Alabama defeated Bennett’s Bulldogs 41-24. Forristall caught three passes for 29 yards in the game while Bennett struggled against the Alabama defense, completing under 50% of his passes and throwing three interceptions.
Of course it is all fun and games now with both Bennett and Forristall focused on doing whatever they can to help the Rams win. Much of that comes in practice for these two at the moment with Bennett being the Rams’ third-string quarterback while Forristall is on the practice squad. But those college ties run deep and there is no doubt the two will be back at it again the next time Georgia and Alabama face off.
