The three-time NFL sack leader is already getting some recognition for his stellar 2024 campaign.
On Thursday, Fox Sports announced Watt as its 2024 Midseason Defensive Player of the Year. “Your 2024 Midseason Defensive Player of the Year is @Steelers LB T.J. Watt, as voted on by NFL on FOX fans!” the NFL on Fox Podcast wrote on X.
Watt, the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2021, finished the Steelers’ 2023 season with a league-leading 19.0 sacks. The 30-year-old pass rusher is now in the midst of yet another impressive campaign.
Watt and the Steelers are 6-2 to start the 2024 NFL season. The team is currently on a three-game win streak, including a 26-18 victory over the New York Giants in Week 8.
