Zion Williamson Makes Brandon Ingram Statement After Toronto Raptors Trade
Williamson was candid with his thought on the trade that sent Ingram to Toronto.
Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram were partners in crime for the entirety of the power forward’s career. For Williamson, life as a member of the New Orleans Pelicans meant coming into work and seeing Ingram there. Now that the former second overall pick has been traded to the Toronto Raptors, that familiarity is gone.
The crazy part of the pair spending five and a half seasons together in New Orleans would be the fact that they did not share the court that often. With both stars having to deal with their fair share of injury troubles, Ingram and Williamson only played 154 games together for the Pelicans.
Despite that, when asked about the trade that sent his now former co-star to the Raptors, the athletic forward sounded like he was going to miss his running mate.
“That was tough, that was tough to see him go. He’s somebody that’s been here with me since day one, [through] all the ups and downs of the Pels. And you wish it could be different, but I think he was just at a point where he felt like he had to do what was best for him and as a friend, all you can do is support that decision.”
