Husan Longstreet, a four-star quarterback, traveled from Corona, California, to the Plains this weekend for the Tigers’ spring scrimmage. It was his second visit to Auburn’s campus, and the final one before finalizing his commitment decision in one week.

Longstreet, ranked as the #5 quarterback in the recruiting class of 2025 and the #2 player out of California, has set his commitment date for April 14. He will choose between Auburn football, Texas A&M, Michigan, Miami, Oregon, Louisville, and Ole Miss.

The thing that matters most to Longstreet in his decision is development, and so far he has been very impressed with the Tigers’ coaching staff.

“The way Coach Jesse (Stone), Coach (Kent) Austin, and Coach Freeze can develop their quarterbacks,” Longstreet explained to Auburn Rivals. “They gather enormous chunks around them. They did it at Ole Miss. They did it in Liberty. “They are doing it now.”

Auburn football announces the A-Day MVPs

Spring practice is finally completed with the A-Day game this past weekend, which ended with the offense defeating the defense by one point, 28-27. Many of the Tigers’ true freshmen were on show at Jordan-Hare, and a bunch of transfers made their Auburn football debuts.

The Tigers’ spring game MVPs were all newcomers: one transfer and two freshmen. Former Texas defensive back Jerrin Thompson earned the defense’s MVP. He had a sack and three tackles during the scrimmage.

The offensive MVP was freshman wide receiver Cam Coleman, who scored the game’s only touchdown. He accumulated 92 yards on four catches, including a 49-yard pass from Hank Brown.

And the special teams MVP might be none other than true freshman kicker Towns McGough, who kicked seven field goals and scored 21 of the offense’s 28 points, including a 58-yarder to win the game.
