The Detroit Lions are one of the more interesting teams going into the 2024 NFL Draft.

Holding the 29th overall pick, the team will draft at the latest point it ever has under general manager Brad Holmes. After an active offseason that left many of the teams’ flaws repaired, they might go in any direction when the first round of the NFL Draft rolls around on April 25.

NFL Network’s Peter Schrager has the newest prediction for what the Lions could do in the first round of this year’s Draft. The analyst believes the Lions will add offensive line depth in the shape of West Virginia’s Zach Frazier.

“Frazier is a former state wrestling champion who’s nasty, versatile and hungry,” Schrager wrote. “This is a Brad Holmes/Dan Campbell prospect if there ever was one, with the West Virginia product oozing bulldog characteristics. If we learned anything from the Jahmyr Gibbs and Jack Campbell picks last year, it’s that the Lions draft guys they like, as opposed to dwelling on needs and perceived positional value.”

Frazier played center in college, but he could play either guard position professionally. He had a Pro Football Focus run-blocking grade of 75.3 and a pass-blocking mark of 83.8 for the Mountaineers last season. He allowed only six pressures last year.

A versatile interior lineman, Frazier also possesses the trademark grit that Holmes and Dan Campbell look for, which dates back to his time as a high school wrestler.

The West Virginia product would provide depth for the Lions this season. Detroit retooled their offensive line after Jonah Jackson left to join the Los Angeles Rams. Graham Glasgow was re-signed to a three-year term, and Kevin Zeitler was given a one-year contract.
