Faizon Brandon is the first to admit that he didn’t completely grasp the significance of emerging as the country’s No. 1 player in the initial Top247 2026 rankings earlier this week. His phone is ringing more, but that’s just more drive.

“Life has changed a little bit,” Brandon told Bama247 after competing in the Elite 11 Regional at Gainesville (Ga.) High School on Sunday afternoon. “More looks have come and I have a lot of college coaches trying to talk to me. It also makes me want to work harder because of all of the other people out there, who want to be number one (and) knowing they are going to come for that spot is making me keep grinding and just keep on working hard.”

Alabama is one institution that has continued to support the country’s formerly 74th-ranked player. The new staff offered the 6-foot-4, 185-pounder in early February, and he came on campus for a spring practice visit last month, which he described as a “great experience.”

Bama247 discovered more about Brandon’s passion in the Crimson Tide.
