Alabama football fans will have to adjust to yet another number change for the next season.

Richard Young, a redshirt freshman running back, wore No. 25 last season.

The native Floridian had 24 rushing yards and a touchdown on nine attempts through three games in 2023. He had a very good spring and recorded a rushing touchdown on A-Day at Bryant-Denny Stadium, but Young has switched things up for the fall.

According to his Instagram, he has changed his number to No. 9.

Young wore No. 9 at Lehigh Senior High School in Lehigh Acres, Fla. He was one of the dominant players in the 2023 recruiting cycle as a five-star, owning the competition in his junior and senior seasons. Crimson Tide fans are excited to see what Young does in the fall.

Houston Texans wide receiver John Metchie warms up ahead of game against Colts

John Metchie is a testimony to his family, friends, Alabama football, and the Houston Texans.

The native Canadian was a second round pick of the 2022 NFL Draft and seventh round pick of the CFL Draft.

He signed his rookie contract with the Houston Texans of the National Football League, regardless of the BC Lions wanting his services in the Canadian Football League. Metchie was a two-time Jon Cornish Trophy winner (2020, 2021) for the Crimson Tide as the top Canadian player in college football. He assisted Alabama to a College Football Playoff National Championship in 2020 while becoming a 1,000-plus yard wide receiver (1,142) in 2021. Metchie world was challenged when he was diagnosed with leukemia before the start of his rookie season in Houston. He missed the 2022 campaign to get better and stronger, but Metchie fought through adversity to play 16 games last season. Metchie caught 16 passes for 158 yards, and it felt good to see him do it.
