Friday marked a significant development for Oregon State football’s recruiting efforts.
Quarterback prospect Deagan Rose announced his commitment to the Beavers via X. The Clovis, California product is the #22 quarterback recruit in the class of 2026, per 247Sports’ rankings. 247Sports also lists Rose as a three-star prospect.
Rose, who measures 6’2″ and 205 pounds, is the first commitment for Oregon State’s 2026 class. He is also currently the only quarterback commit in either the 2025 or 2026 class for the Beavers, as of July 5. Thus, Rose becomes the first quarterback commitment of the Trent Bray era.
Per his MaxPreps page, Rose completed 183 passes on 293 attempts for 2894 yards with 24 touchdowns and 11 touchdowns as a sophomore last season. He also rushed for 14 touchdowns with 64 carries for 269 yards.
Rose chose the Beavers over 13 other offers, including scholarships from Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon, Auburn, Houston, Arkansas, Cal, and Utah, among others.
The first opportunity for 2026 commits to sign with their chosen schools will be in early December of 2025.
The Beavers begin their 2024 campaign on August 31 when they host Idaho State.
