The New York Giants have revealed that quarterback Drew Lock sustained a hip injury in the first quarter of their preseason game against the Detroit Lions. Lock was injured on a hit late in the first quarter against the Lions. Lock started but had a terrible outing in his first game as a Giant, being sacked and absorbing many hits after throwing the ball. He either had a lot of time but kept the ball or was forced to leave the pocket. Lock had only completed 4 of 10 throws for 17 yards and an interception, with a passer rating of 8.3. Following Lock’s departure, Tommy DeVito took over and led the Giants to a score in the second quarter.

Lock’s departure brought on Tommy DeVito, who led the Giants to the scoring a touchdown in the second quarter.

While Lock was ruled as “questionable” with the injury, however his night is likely over considering that this is preseason and the team doesn’t need to risk a significant injury in a game that doesn’t count.
