The initial College Football Playoff rankings have been revealed and two undefeated teams may be lower than the programs had hoped. ESPN’s Greg McElroy identified one team from a power conference that should be upset at the rankings.
The top of the rankings featured little surprise with the Oregon Ducks claiming the top spot. With the team’s lone loss coming against Oregon, the Ohio State Buckeyes are No. 2 followed by the No. 3 Georgia Bulldogs. The Miami Hurricanes snagged the No. 4 spot with no Big 12 team represented among the top eight slots.
It is the No. 9 BYU Cougars who would be the only Big 12 team in the postseason as things stand now in the current rankings. The No. 8 Indiana Hoosiers are also undefeated and just one spot ahead of BYU.
So, the fact that there’s only a margin of three spots between 12th with Boise State and BYU at 9 is ridiculous.”
