The 2023–24 Premier League season has started out reasonably well for Nottingham Forest. They now lie five points above the bottom three with nine points from eight games.

The challenge for the Reds this season is to ensure that they progress in the division. First and foremost, however, Forest will want to make sure they don’t get embroiled in a relegation scrap.

The Reds have had some good performances this season. There have, however, been some moments where the players will feel they might have done better.

With the second international break of the campaign upon us, we’ve looked at the five Forest players who have committed the most fouls so far during the current season, according to Who Scored.

The five Nottingham Forest players with the most fouls

5: Ola Aina (6)

Not a massive surprise considering the left-back often finds himself up against top-class wingers on a regular basis. Aina does, however, look like a solid signing and he will have a lot to offer this season.

4: Morgan Gibbs-White (6)

Perhaps a surprise entry is Gibbs-White who has committed as many fouls as Aina, despite operating as a number 10. The 23-year-old has featured in every game this season and he wins his fair share of fouls too.

3: Willy Boly (10)

Arguably Forest’s Player of the Year so far during 2023/24. Boly has been in fine form and he’s top of the pops in lots of areas. Given that he’s now 32-years-old, we’ll forgive him for the fact he’s committed 10 fouls already this season.

2: Orel Mangala (10)

One who perhaps is another surprise in the top five is the Belgian international. He’s played more than some might have expected this season and he’s into double figures for fouls committed.

1.Ryan Yates (12) is ranked first.

This is probably not a surprise. Yates, as good as he has been for the Reds over the previous two years, can still be inconsistent in the tackle. As a result, despite only appearing in six games this season, he has already committed 12 fouls.
