HAWTHORN manager Sam Mitchell will spend this week at English Premier League club Tottenham as he kicks off the off-season.

After a busy commercial season for the club, the Hawks coach and former captain traveled to London to develop his coaching skills.

Tottenham have made a magical start to the 2023-24 season under new Australian manager Ange Postecoglou and can leapfrog to the top of the table with a win over Fulham on Tuesday.

Mitchell and Hawks assistant Adrian Hickmott are in England and will be at the club this week, meeting various staff and departments at the club as part of their professional development.

This is not the first time Mitchell has looked at Postecoglou’s way as he looks for new ways, ideas and insights.
Last season, the four-time Premier League star visited Scottish giants Celtic, where he watched Postecoglou before the former Socceroos manager took the Spurs job in June.

Mitchell then spent several days with the Spurs in Perth in July when they were in Australia as part of a pre-season exhibition tour.
Mitchell, who coached the Hawks for two seasons, also visited Tottenham at the end of the 2019 season, returned to the Hawks coaching committee for the first time. is year he participated in the club’s academic program, overseeing the planning of training sessions and the allocation of resources to players in the areas of sports science, medicine and training.

Tottenham enjoyed an unbeaten start under Postecoglou and the ‘Big Angel’ quickly won over the club’s supporters.
